Contributions to SEMO Track & Field/Cross Country will fund technology and equipment enhancements for student-athlete development, as well as recovery and rehab.
- Game Ready - This is the industry-standard cold compression unit. We currently have one system that is utilized every single day in our sports medicine room and having a second unit would allow for more athletes to have the ability to use it more often. Keeping athletes healthy is the primary focus of our last 12 months of fundraising and this would continue to enhance this effort.
- Free Lap - The Free Lap system is used to help improve the training of our speed and power athletes. This system sends empirical data directly to a coach's cell phone in real time, allowing for more accurate information and the ability to immediately compare directly to previous results. In just one fall, we saw significant improvements in these athletes and a second receiver system would allow for multiple groups to be able to use it at the same time.
- NormaTech - This compression recover unit, purchased last year through giving day, has been our most utilized piece of equipment in our sports medicine room. Having another set will allow for more athletes to be able to efficiently utilize this important recovery system.
- Tendo Unit - Similar to the data from the Free Lap system, the Tendo unit provides immediate and accurate information in the weight room, measuring speed and wattage. Coaches will be to adjust weight, volume, and even timing of workouts from being able to see the movement patterns in the weight room. Data like this allows for more individualized workouts and can help to avoid overuse injuries.
